The Federal Government has convened the first Steering Committee meeting for the National Community Food Bank Programme, a flagship initiative of the First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu.
RoundReports understands that the committee was designed to combat malnutrition and food insecurity among Nigeria’s most vulnerable citizens.

Pate stated that the scheme will deploy vouchers and digital platforms to connect women and children in need with food and nutrition support.
Borno State has been chosen as the pilot location, with plans to roll out the programme across all six geopolitical zones and the 36 states.
Notably, the initiative has attracted strong backing from development partners, traditional and religious leaders, alongside corporate support from the Aliko Dangote Foundation and the NNPC Foundation, ensuring both effective delivery and long-term sustainability.
