Nigerian singer and songwriter Omah Lay has opened up about the emotional turmoil he faced while attending the Grammy Awards, revealing that he was dealing with a breakup even as global stars took to the stage.
Speaking candidly, the Understand hitmaker admitted that relationships often consume him entirely, leaving little room for balance.
“Every time I fall in love, I lose myself,” he said, recalling how he struggled to stay present during Justin Bieber’s performance at the ceremony.
The 26-year-old explained that the relationship, which lasted only two months, had such an impact on him that he found it difficult to enjoy the prestigious event.

“I don’t know how to do two things at a time. So when I’m into one thing, all of me is into that. I wasn’t present at the Grammy. I didn’t even enjoy anything,” he confessed.
Reflecting with a touch of humour, Omah Lay also warned against taking his affections too seriously. “Don’t love me… I’ll just enjoy this moment, but as soon as I find another thing that gives me pleasure, I’m gonna leave,” he quipped.
The Afrobeats star, who has built a reputation for blending vulnerability with sharp lyricism, continues to resonate with fans by sharing personal experiences that highlight the complexities of love and fame.
