Police Rescue Four Abducted Children in Nasarawa

Operatives of the Nasarawa State Police Command have rescued four abducted children and reunited them with their families following an intelligence-led operation in Karu Local Government Area (LGA).

The command’s spokesman, Rahman Nansel, said the rescue followed a report received on 31 December 2025 at the New Nyanya Police Division concerning the disappearance of the children under suspicious circumstances.

According to Nansel, detectives immediately launched a discreet investigation and, working in collaboration with operatives of the Federal Capital Territory Police Command, acted on credible intelligence to trace the suspects’ hideout and recovered the children unhurt.

Preliminary findings, he said, indicated that the children were allegedly abducted by a 28-year-old suspect, Abraham Asoje, in conspiracy with a 29-year-old woman, Joy Bolaje, both from Ado Junction in Karu LGA.

The suspects were said to have kept the children in confinement before the police intervention.

Nansel added that the children have since been reunited with their families, while efforts are ongoing to apprehend other suspects believed to be at large.

He said the Commissioner of Police, Shetima Mohammed, commended the professionalism and swift response of the operatives involved.

Mohammed, he revealed, reaffirmed the command’s commitment to protecting lives and property, with particular emphasis on the safety of children and other vulnerable persons across the state.
