AA Rano Launches 24-Hour Unmanned Fuel Stations Across Nigeria

Auwalu Abdullahi Rano (AAR) Nigeria Limited has announced the launch of 24-hour unmanned fuel stations nationwide.

The company’s first self-service stations are equipped with smart pumping technology, allowing motorists and motorcyclists to refuel and make instant payments without the assistance of fuel attendants.

Speaking on Wednesday, Alhaji Auwalu Abdullahi Rano, founder of AAR Nigeria Limited, said the stations were developed in partnership with Petrosoft Limited, a Nigerian technology firm specialising in management systems for the oil and gas industry.

"The self-dispensing fuel pumps with instant payment are being launched in partnership with Petrosoft Limited.

"The technology will be rolled out across our 200 retail outlets nationwide, including border communities with Niger, Chad, Benin and Cameroon," Rani said.

The company plans to begin operations at its first automated stations in January 2026.

According to Rano, the system is designed to reduce time lost at fuel stations, improve transparency and guarantee that customers receive the precise volume of fuel paid for.

Dr Joshua Denila, CEO of Petrosoft Limited, echoed the role of local innovation in the initiative.

"Our fuel dispensing and payment systems are developed locally and built to international standards," he said.

The rollout is expected to modernise Nigeria’s fuel retail sector and offer motorists a more convenient, secure, and round-the-clock refuelling experience.
