The Nigeria Police Academy (POLAC), Wudil, has held its first-ever combined convocation ceremony for officers of Regular Courses 1 to 7.
RoundReports learnt that the event, which took place on Thursday in Kano State, also featured the official commissioning of the newly constructed IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun Multipurpose Hall.
The 1,000-seater facility was named in honour of the current IGP which was formally commissioned by the Honourable Minister of Police Affairs, represented by the Permanent Secretary, Dr Anuma Ogbonnaya Nnia.
Egbetokun was represented by DIG Sadiq Abubakar, head of the Force Criminal Investigation Department and a former Commandant of the Academy.
AIG Patrick A Atayero, the Academy’s current Commandant welcomed senior officers, dignitaries and invited guests, describing the day as a remarkable moment in the institution’s growth and its commitment to shaping professionally trained officers.
The ceremony, which proceeded without incident, was seen as a huge step in the Academy’s efforts to strengthen its academic standards and infrastructure.
