BREAKING: Bayelsa Governor Douye Diri Defects to APC

Bayelsa State Governor, Douye Diri, has officially defected to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), ending his long-standing association with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The announcement came moments ago at a grand rally in Yenagoa, the state capital, where thousands of jubilant supporters flooded the streets dressed in white APC T-shirts, singing and drumming in celebration.

Diri’s defection puts to rest weeks of speculation over his political move following his recent resignation from the PDP.

Top political figures, including Governors Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom, Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta, Orimisan Aiyedatiwa of Ondo, former Edo Governor Adams Oshiomhole, and  Minister of Niger Delta Development, Engr Abubakar Momoh, among others were present at the event.

More details to come...
