Reality TV star and entrepreneur, Natacha Akide, popularly known as Tacha, has begun her ambitious attempt to set a Guinness World Record (GWR) for the highest number of makeovers completed within 24 hours.
The marathon session commenced at exactly 8:00 pm on Saturday at the John Randle Centre for Yorùbá Culture & History in Lagos, as part of the ongoing Tacha Beauty Festival, which runs from October 10 to 12, 2025.
Surrounded by cheering fans and a host of celebrities, Tacha kicked off the challenge, aiming to complete makeovers on 150 models in a single day, a feat yet to be recorded on such scale in Nigeria.
Models were seen seated in rows, awaiting their turn in what is expected to be a round-the-clock beauty marathon. Some participants, however, lamented over meal delays as organisers worked to manage the large crowd.
Before the first brush stroke, Tacha paused for an emotional tribute to her late mother. A poster at the venue read, "Every makeover, every smile, every moment today is for you. Your legacy lives through me." The Reality Star was seen kneeling before the banner in a moment of quiet reflection.
Tacha, who rose to prominence after featuring in the 2019 Big Brother Naija ‘Pepper Dem’ season, has since evolved into a prominent media figure and beauty entrepreneur.
According to her team, the goal is not only to break a record but to showcase resilience, creativity, and the power of the Nigerian beauty industry.
Notable supporters spotted at the venue include Broda Shaggi, Dabota Lawson, Hilda Baci, Liquorose, Nons Miraj, Samuel Banks, and Somadina Anyama, among others.
The makeover session is expected to run through the night and conclude on Sunday. Upon completion, the attempt will be reviewed and submitted to GWR for official confirmation.
