Popular Nigerian comedian and actor, Nosa Afolabi, widely known as Lasisi Elenu, and his wife, Nonso Adika Afolabi, have announced the birth of their baby boy.
The comedian shared the happy news on Instagram with a heartfelt message quoting a Bible verse: "Whoever believes in me, rivers of living water will flow from within them (John 7:38 NLT)."
Introducing their newborn, he wrote, "Meet our son, RIVER ELROI, ADÉDÁMINI, ADEWUNMI, NOSAGIE, ANYALEWECHI AFOLABI. Our RIVER of flowing waters is here — our JOY, our TESTIMONY, our GIFT from God. RIVER – a symbol of life, abundance, renewal, and God’s unending grace flowing through us."
The announcement drew a flood of congratulatory messages from fellow celebrities and fans.
Actress and media personality Bukunmi Adeaga-Ilori, popularly known as KieKie, commented: "For a River never runs dry, you’re blessed."
Fans also joined in celebrating the couple. One user, @julyanah_, wrote, "I love his name. God bless and keep you, River Elroi."
Another, @meetjennifer, added, "This post gave me goosebumps. River El-Roi. What a name! Congratulations to the family, God is good."
User @imuwahen humorously welcomed the child as "the brother of Rain."
Lasisi and Nonso, who tied the knot in 2022, welcomed their first child, Rain (a daughter) later that same year.
Known for his distinctive "wide mouth filter" comedy and witty social commentary, Lasisi infused his trademark humour and spirituality into the birth announcement, turning it into a message of faith and gratitude.
