Sunny-Goli Lauds Diri on Arrival of New Gas Turbines

Former member of the House of Representatives and Amadabo of Kemmer-Ama, HRH (Rt. Hon.) Israel Sunny-Goli, has applauded the Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Douye Diri, for the arrival of new gas turbines aimed at boosting electricity supply across the state.

Sunny-Goli described the development on Wednesday as a milestone that would greatly transform Bayelsa’s economy and enhance security, stressing that a steady power supply remains vital for attracting investment and driving growth.

"The arrival of brand-new gas turbines is a testament to Governor Diri’s visionary and pragmatic leadership. This development is poised to be a game-changer for the state, as the installation and operation of the turbines will mark a paradigm shift in how businesses operate—especially given the critical role of power supply in economic productivity," he said.

The former federal lawmaker stressed that the governor’s people-centred approach to governance has distinguished him from his predecessors, declaring Diri as the best governor in the history of Bayelsa State.

He added that he had no regrets supporting Diri’s re-election, pointing to the numerous landmark projects executed under his administration as evidence of his commitment to improving lives.

He urged Bayelsans to sustain their support for the governor, assuring them that Diri has their best interests at heart and is committed to delivering on his promises.

This initiative will not only boost economic activities by turning the state into a haven for investors, but it will also enhance overall security.

“I have no regrets whatsoever about supporting Governor Diri’s re-election. If for nothing else, he has consistently shown that he has the people at heart. I firmly believe that governance is about improving lives, and that is exactly what the governor is doing through the plethora of landmark projects in the state,” Sunny-Goli said.
