Nollywood legend, Joke Silva, is basking in an outpouring of love as fans, colleagues and admirers across the world celebrate her 64th birthday.
On Monday, social media platforms were filled with glowing tributes for the veteran actress, widely regarded as one of the most respected figures in the Nigerian movie industry.
Taking to her verified Instagram page, @ajokesilva, the actress extended gratitude for her life’s journey so far.
“Grateful Lord for your Mercy, your Faithfulness, for protection, for Provision, for Family, for Friends, for Colleagues… thank you King of Glory for 64 amazing years,” she wrote.
The heartfelt post quickly drew a flood of reactions from friends and colleagues in the industry.
Media mogul Mo Abudu commented, “Happy birthday big sis, all my love.”
Actress Shan George added, “Happy birthday Aunty J, I wish you good health in wealth and prosperity. More grace.”

Born on September 29, 1961, in Lagos, Joke Silva has carved a remarkable career spanning decades.
She first gained major international attention in 1998, starring opposite Colin Firth and Nia Long in the British-Canadian film The Secret Laughter of Women.
Her career, however, stretches back further to roles like the 1990 English TV series Mind Bending.
Over the years, she has featured in countless productions in both English and Yoruba, earning accolades for her versatility.
In 2006, she won the Africa Movie Academy Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role.
Beyond film, she has been recognised globally, serving as a UN Office on Drugs and Crime goodwill ambassador in 2012 and receiving Nigeria’s national honour, Member of the Order of the Federal Republic (MFR), in 2014.
