Police in Abuja have nabbed Emmanuel Odiniya, father of 2023 Big Brother Naija winner Ilebaye Odiniya, after responding to a distress call about an alleged assault at their home.
The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command said it received the call at about 12:00 am on 9 May 2026 reporting that Ilebaye Odiniya Emmanuel was being physically assaulted by her father at their residence in Royal Anchor Estate, Wuye.
Officers from Wuye Division, backed by the Department of Operations, were sent to the scene.
The command’s spokesperson, SP Josephine Adeh, said the gate to the property was initially locked, but officers gained access at about 2:30 am.
Ilebaye was found with visible bruises and was rescued alongside her brothers.

She was taken to NNPC Multispecialty Hospital in Abuja for treatment while her father remains in police custody.
Recall that the arrest followed an emotional live video shared by Ilebaye in the early hours of Saturday.
In the footage, she appeared distressed with visible swelling to her face and pleaded for help from fans online.
Police said a thorough investigation is underway to establish the full circumstances of the incident.
"Hon. Emmanuel Odiniya is currently in police custody, while a thorough investigation is ongoing to determine the full circumstances surrounding the incident," Adeh said in a statement.
