NCDMB Seals Radisson, Edison Deal to Manage 204-room Yenagoa Hotel

The Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) has signed an international management agreement with Radisson Hospitality Belgium and Edison Hotel and Property Development Company for the operation of its 204-room hotel and conference centre in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State.

According to NCDMB, the agreement, executed on Monday in Durban, South Africa, covers the facility being developed beside the Nigerian Content Tower in Swali and is scheduled to open in December 2026.

Signing on behalf of the NCDMB, its executive secretary, Felix Omatsola Ogbe, said negotiations and compliance checks had taken more than two years, culminating in approvals from all key stakeholders, including the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Lateef Olasunkanmi Fagbemi.

Ogbe explained the objective was to deliver a world-class hotel with a fully equipped conference centre to serve oil and gas stakeholders as well as the wider public.

He pledged the board’s commitment to meeting construction, safety, funding and pre-opening requirements in line with Radisson’s global standards.

Furthermore, he urged Radisson to deploy its operational systems and brand expertise to ensure high service quality and guest experience, adding that the partnership with Edison was expected to reinforce Bayelsa’s status as an oil and gas hub.

This project reflects our use of strategic investments to boost productivity, attract capital, build local content and expand opportunities for business and tourism.

When completed, the Radisson Hotel & Conference Centre Yenagoa will stand as a symbol of what strong partnerships can achieve,” he said.

Edison’s executive chairman, Vivian Reedy, asserted the company would act as a bridge between owner and operator, drawing on its hospitality experience to ensure alignment, transparency and performance.

A successful hotel is not just about buildings. It is about disciplined management, strong oversight, brand integrity and a shared commitment to excellence,” he said.

Reedy announced Edison would work closely with Radisson and the NCDMB to position the property as the leading hospitality and conference destination in Bayelsa, citing the firm’s track record with Radisson-branded assets elsewhere, including high occupancy levels.

Radisson was represented at the signing by its director, Garnier Erwan, while the Attorney-General’s office was represented by Wada Ahmed Wada, who described the ceremony as historic and wished the parties success.

The hotel is expected to support business travel and conferences in the Niger Delta while contributing to tourism growth in the state.
