Delta Police Arrest 4 Suspects Linked to Gun Found on Singer Killed in Effurun

Delta State Police Command has arrested four suspects linked to the firearm found on upcoming artiste Oghenemine Ogidi, who was fatally shot by a police officer in Effurun, Uvwie Local Government Area (LGA) on 26 April.

State Commissioner of Police, CP Yemi Oyeniyi, disclosed the arrests in a statement on Sunday, 8 June.

Oyeniyi said the suspects were apprehended following a detailed investigation and intelligence-led operations.

According to the CP, operatives arrested the suspects on 1 May in Bayelsa and Imo states.

The suspects are Emmanuel Chukwuemeka, Clifford Boleyelefa, Amadi Princewill and Amadi Felix Chibuike.

CP Oyeniyi disclosed the first suspect, Emmanuel Chukwuemeka, was arrested in Bayelsa on 4 May alongside a friend whose phone he used to negotiate the gun purchase.

"Emmanuel revealed that he bought the gun from one Amadi Princewill for N290,000 and sold it to one Desmond, still at large, for N380,000.

"Desmond then waybilled it to Effurun and contacted Oghenemine Ogidi, now deceased, to collect it and send to Sapele," the statement read.
